Around Grindelwald

More images from our time in Switzerland.  We stayed in part of an old farm house - and from the garden you could look at the The Nordwand (North Face) of the Eiger.  At 3,970 m high it's a rather impressive looking mountain.  In the past I had read many story of adventure and often misadventure on this mountain it felt really strange to sit below it, glass of wine in hand and to wonder how the hell people climb it.

As you can see, the whole area is pretty spectacular.  I'd love to go back.

You can find more pictures from around the world here at Our World Tuesday.

Ach!!! I'm so jealous of your stay in Switzerland!!! What a stunningly beautiful spot! I started my first Europe trip in Switzerland...for 6 weeks...I stayed with relatives...my mom's parents both came from Switzerland! During part of my trip I stayed in Grindlewald...I arrived just at sunset and found the youth hostel (I turned 30 on this trip). In the morning, I woke up as the sun was rising and shining in the giant window next to my bed...I was looking directly at the Eiger! Up close and very personal!!! Stunning countryside! Loved it!

Well. If you have to look at a rock...that's as good a rock as any.

I think I'll pack for the beach now. Sigh.

Tell me when you have some magnificent elements photographed.

I'm not jealous at all.
